Baptisms
Baptism
Children are very welcome at both of our churches and we can baptise at both St Martin's and St Peter's.
We have an open Baptism Policy, and are very happy to baptise (christen) your babies or children if you live in our parish. If you have connections with the parish, or particular reasons why you would like this parish, but live elsewhere, most clergy are very happy for you to go your chosen church, and the vicar will tell you how to organise this. You may have up to 4 Godparents, either gender, and they must all have been baptised themselves.
The vicar will send you information about the meaning of baptism and the promises you and the God Parents will be making. There will be an opportunity at the baptism preparation meeting to discuss any questions that you may have.
If you are an adult considering baptism, please contact the vicar, who will be happy to help you talk this through and prepare you for this important event.
Confirmation
We are currently preparing a group of young people and also adults, for confirmation on October 31st. Further information from Elaine Richardson Vicar 01227 370256
